    Silex 2.0

    Silex - A 13,628 foot peak in the San Juan Range of mountains in Southwest Colorado.

    The Silex 2.0 is your stormproof sanctuary with extra space most solo tents don't offer. This generously sized one-person shelter gives you room to stretch out plus space for your gear, all while maintaining an ultralight design. Sets up in minutes with just six stakes and stays rock-solid in high winds thanks to its smart engineering.

    Changes from 1.0 to 2.0 model: More sleeping area with a larger footbox accommodating full size sleeping pads. Reduced footprint size. One single zippered door. Redesigned shape and pitch to better suit solo users and to get a tighter easier pitch. One vestibule with vestibule ventilation system, and an added peak vent for maximum ventilation. New nest allows for full size pads of all lengths.

    Enjoy the convenience of two vestibules for dry gear storage. While designed for one, the spacious interior can even accommodate two in a pinch.

    SEAM SEALING:  

    For best results we recommend seam-sealing your tent.  You can do it at home or have us do it for you
    1. To seal the shelter, pitch it normally and seal the outside seams.
    2. You can run a thin bead of sealant along the seam, press it in with a finger, and wipe away excess on a paper towel.
    3. Alternatively, you can use an acid brush from a hardware store to spread the sealant.

    Temperature Rating
    • We use high temp silicone coated fiberglass material, rated to several thousand degrees, for the stove jack. The tent material never touches the hot pipe. If there are any pinholes from floating embers, they can be sealed with a small dab of silicone without damaging the shelter.

    A. Yes, the Silex 2.0 is a true 4-season tent featuring a stable tent design, reinforced guy-out points, and a stove jack for running a Titanium wood stove

    Q: How many people can fit in the Silex 2.0

    A:  The Silex 2.0 is designed for comfortable, generous spacing—sleeping 1 full-size adult with gear. Without a stove, it provides ample room for 1 (2 in a pinch) and their equipment. When using a wood stove, it comfortably fits 1 adult + gear while maintaining proper safety clearance around the hot stove. Unlike many brands that overstate capacity for small adults or minimal gear, the Silex 2.0 prioritizes livable space. 

    Q: Is the Silex 2.0 a good hunting tent?

    A: The Silex 2.0 is an excellent hunting tent with its included stove jack for heating, stable wind-resistant design, and ultralight trekking pole design the Silex is amazing for backcountry adventures and has ample room for gear!

    Q: What's the difference between the Silex and the Brightwater 1p?

    A: The Silex offers two vestibules, more sitting room than the Brightwater, and an optional stovejack. While the Brightwater offers a lighter weight, smaller footprint and single pole design. The Brightwater does not have a stovejack and is not compatible with a stove.

    Q: Can the Seek Outside Silex 2.0 be used as a hot tent?

    A: Yes, the Silex 2.0 has an optional stovejack and is compatible with our Medium sized stoves. 

    Q: How does the Silex 2.0 perform in high winds?

    A: The strong two pole design and its strong seams and material help it hold its shape in high winds. The natural shape of the shelter sheds winds incredibly well.

    Q: What size stove should I get with the Silex 2.0

    A: We recommend either the Medium or Medium U turn stove with 6 feet of pipe. A little extra pipe is okay, but excessive stove pipe above the canopy of your tent can catch wind and might make your stove unstable.
